Family & Friends, It’s the Year of Grace!
We are well on our way on the journey of Grace. Recall the injunction that says, "Let us boldly approach the throne of our gracious God, where we may receive Mercy and his Grace to find timely help" (Heb 4:16 NEB)
GRACE: Why is Grace important?
Grace is vital and so important because the Christian life cannot be sustained without it.
To become all that God wants us to be in this life, we need God’s power, ability, strength and wisdom which are overflows of God’s grace.
Let’s define GRACE, I love the acronym- ‘God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense’.
Some have deemed GRACE – the overflow of God’s Love and I love that too.
This much is true, we must not assume Grace is cheap because it is freely given.
Grace is expensive and must be appropriated. Do not forget that Grace can be trampled upon, abused, misused or misappropriated and it is also true that Grace can be denied and refuted.
- Grace restores (to a higher level of power).
- Grace erases (the toil and shame of the past).
- Grace qualifies.
- Grace preserves.
- Grace protects.
- Grace promotes.
- Grace provides.
I conclude by declaring and commending you to the Grace of God in 2013, an example set by the Apostle Paul in the book of Acts (Acts 20:32). The Grace of God is what we need today, the Grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance amongst the saints.
Rejoice it’s our year of Grace!
